Obituary

Jane A. “Gam” Houser, 98, of Bellefonte, passed away at home on Saturday, January 2, 2021. Born on May 31, 1922, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Clark Newton and Bernice (Dukeman) Aikey. On 1943, she married her beloved husband, Ellis Foster “Pat” Houser, who preceded her in death on May 18, 1987, after sharing 44 years of marriage together.

Jane was a 1940 graduate of Bellefonte High School. She dedicated her life to taking care of her home and raising her family.

She is survived by her one son, Timothy Clark Houser, Sr. of Centre Hall; three grandchildren, Timothy C. Houser, Jr. (Shira) of Centre Hall, Tiffany Leonard (Clint) of North Jackson, Ohio, and John P. Houser, II (Lori) of Bellefonte; five great grandchildren, Cash W. Leonard, Cord A. Leonard, Amber V. Evock, Jace P. Houser, and Marissa L. Houser, and three great great grandchildren, Presleigh Jade Evock, Scarlett Olivia Evock, and Julian Drago Evock.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John “Jack” Patrick Charles Houser, on April 21, 1998, and one brother, Miles Aikey.

Jane was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Bellefonte. She was also a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved John Wayne and enjoyed watching his movies. She treasured the time that she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; even at 90 years old, she was still swinging and playing with them! She loved taking care of her three miniature horses and her boxers throughout the years, her most recent being “TeePee.”

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jane’s memory to Skills of Central PA at 341 Science Park Road, Suite 6, State College, PA 16803.

Tim and family,

I am the fool that called on Saturday to talk to your mom. I had been thinking of her a lot this year but knew visiting wasn’t smart. Over the holidays I had been calling family and friends just to talk and catch up and I will always be sad that I didn’t call her sooner.

She was a great person and friend and I valued that. I enjoyed dropping in to visit and the long conversations we had over the years. She was special and I am sure she leaves a big hole in the your family.

Treasure the memories that I am sure you have, she was a very special lady. She will be missed by so many.

With sympathy,

Wynn Meyers

So very sorry for your loss. We shared many a conversation over the years when she would call my husband about plumbing services. She was a very kind, warm person who loved her family dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family!
