Dorothy (Dot) Marie Walker, 88, of Bellefonte, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte. Born on September 2, 1930, in Bellefonte, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lorna (Haines) Baney. She married Earl E. Walker on December 24, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Dot was a 1948 graduate of Bellefonte High School. She worked as an office assistant for Straley Veterinary Clinic in Bellefonte for over 30 years. Dot was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Bellefonte where she was a past Sunday school teacher, and the Pleasant Gap American Legion Auxiliary. Dot enjoyed bowling and bowled in leagues for over 40 years, roller-skating, playing cards and sing-alongs.
Known to family and friends as Gram Dot, she is survived by her two daughters, Lorna (Tim) Maloy of Bellefonte, Carol (Chip) Walker of Pleasant Gap, two sons, Jerry (Kim) Walker of Mt. Joy, and Edward (Laurie) Walker of Bellefonte, 9 grandchildren, Michelle (Ed) Drapcho, Susan (Denny) Johnson, Jessica (Jared) Ingram, Eric (Melanie) Walker, Jaime (Adam) Markle, Megan (Bill) Snow, Alison (Andy) Morse, Brian (Kelley) Walker, Michael (Bonnie Cirillo) Walker, and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Henry Walker, and one brother, Earl H. Baney.
There will be a public viewing held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, from 6-8pm at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte and on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, from 10am until 11am at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at 11am at the funeral home with Deacon Tom Boldin officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Bellefonte.
