Betty Louise Davis Leiter, 93, of Bellefonte passed away on October 8, 2018. Born on May 1, 1925 in Philipsburg, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Naomi Bottomley Davis. Betty married John Glenn Leiter in Lewistown, Pa. on October 18, 1946. John passed away on June 22, 2015.
She was a 1943 graduate of Lewistown High School. Betty worked for the American Viscoe Company while living in Lewistown, moving to Bellefonte in 1953. Betty worked for the Bellefonte Area School District and the State College Area School District retiring from State College in 1988. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lewistown and attended since 1929. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Centre Chapter No. 207 for over 50 years.
Betty is survived by three sons, Glenn (Vickie), John (Rhonda), and Joseph, all of Bellefonte; seven grandchildren, Jason (Heather), Justin, Joseph, Adam (Stephanie), Andrew, Nicholas, and Jordan Sterrett. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Justine, Adelle, Jacob, Christian, and Brielle as well as four nieces and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Andrew Davis, Henry Davis, Ruth Jean Davis Fisher, and Gerald Davis and one nephew, Dennis Davis.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 9-11 am at Faith United Methodist Church at 512 Hughes Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will immediately follow at the church at 11am with Rev. Andrew Morgan officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
