Nancy I. Dunn, 85, of Bellefonte, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Juniper Village in State College. Born on January 31, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Francis H. and Winifred (Dunlap) Crawford. On January 30, 1954, she married the love of her life, John Robert Dunn, who preceded her in death on June 14, 2003, after sharing 49 years of marriage together.
Nancy was a 1950 graduate of Bellefonte High School. In 1952 she graduated with an associate degree in Dental Hygiene from Temple University.
Nancy is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and William Fleckenstein of Centre Hall; and one sister, Joan C. Fleck of Jupiter, FL. Also surviving are two nieces, Cheryl Spatig (G. Thomas) of Olive Branch, MS, and Diane Smith (David Jodon) of Jupiter, FL, and one great-niece, Kiersten Stokes Alexander (Jim).
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one niece, S. Michele Stokes.
Nancy was a devoted mother, homemaker, an avid reader and an outstanding bridge player. Nancy, along with Dona Goldman and Jeri Galaida, were founding members of the Bellefonte Arts Festival. She volunteered at the Annual Children’s Fair and was a member of the Altar Guild at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
