Mary M. Coslo, 80, of Bellefonte, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Centre Crest Nursing Home. Born in Carbondale, Pa., on February 13, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Brennan) Brady. She was married to her beloved husband James R. Coslo, Sr., who preceded her in death on March 31, 2013.
Mary attended Holy Savior Catholic School in Wilkes Barre and Coughlin High School before moving back to Carbondale where she graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School. Mary held several jobs before being hired by Bell Telephone as an operator. She was a classroom aide for the Bellefonte Area School District for 30 years.
Mary is survived by three children, James R. Jr. (Jennifer), Stephen M. (Heather), and Jeffrey P. (Denise), all of Bellefonte. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Aaron, Emily, Hannah, Charlotte, Evan, Emmett, and Euen.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Joseph J., and one brother and one sister, Johnny and Alice. Mary was the last of her generation.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 9-11am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 134 Bishop Street, Bellefonte. Mass will immediately follow at 11am at the church with Father George Jakopac officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
