On February 11, 2018, Stephen D. Fink’s name was erased from the book of life, and yet his spirit lives on.
He was born in Bellefonte on September 11, 1949. At age 18 months, he came under the care of Barbara Fern Susan. She loved and cared for him as her own until her death in 1990. Steve, AKA Creature, was a chef at various restaurants in State College, and truly loved being creative in the kitchen. Native American crafts along with leather work were a favorite past time for him. And it goes without saying in Creature’s eyes, that a Harley Davidson was the only motorcycle worth having.
The Creature is survived by his wife, Barbara, and his daughters, Emily Ann Fink (Aaron) and Mallory Marie Fink. And waiting at Heaven’s door will be his son, Caleb Gruhn Fink.
Also surviving are his brothers, John Susan (Ping), Peter Susan (Sydney) and Joe Susan (Lisa). His nieces, Shawna Bitner (Dan), Chelsea Susan and Kaitlin Susan and his nephews Ryan Gruhn and Wyatt Gruhn. And of course, his beloved granddaughter Nora A. Fischer.
Gathering for the celebration of his life will be Saturday, February 17, 2018 beginning at 1:00 PM at Boalsburg Mansion at 163 Boal Estate Drive, Boalsburg. All friends and family are welcome and please bring your best “Creature” story.
