Jane “Clip” Miller Shuey, 90, of Bellefonte, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte. Born in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Veda (Moore) Miller. She was married to William Richard Shuey, who precedes her in death.
She was a 1945 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School. Jane went on to work for Bellefonte Middle School as a baker, which is where she would later retire from.
She is survived by three daughters, Janet Stahlman (Edgar) of Marsh Creek, Brenda Boone (Gary) of Milesburg, and Amy Carnahan (Curtis) of Bellefonte; and one son, William A. Shuey (Joanna) of Pennsylvania Furnace. Also surviving are two grandchildren: Chad and Derek Stahlman, and one great-grandson, Seth Billotte.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Bobbi Boone, two sisters and three brothers.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte.
She was very active in her church and ran the kitchen for special events for many years. Her life legacy was helping others. She made angel-food cakes that could float on air.
A public viewing will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 5-7pm at Faith United Methodist Church at 512 Hughes Street in Bellefonte. An additional viewing will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 10am and funeral services will follow at 11am with Rev. Andy Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Meyer Cemetery.
